Kindergarten through Grade 5Students of all ages learn more science–content and skills–when they engage in investigation and discovery using everyday materials and the basic equipment of science. The science program at the elementary level consists of science kits that are designed around inquiry-centered units and involve children in hands-on activities. The units, designed by the National Science Resources Center (NSRC), help teachers engage students in observation, measurement, identification of properties, and controlled experimentation involving life, earth, and physical science concepts.
