$3,556 Raised in Cleveland and Montessori Walk-a-Thon

The Cleveland Elementary School and NEW Montessori School Walk-a-thon was held Oct. 7, with the 4K class walking on the next day. The annual walk-a-thon was held in conjunction with "Walk Your Child to School Day." The children walked an eight-block area.

Cheese snacks that were donated by Sargento in Kiel were distributed after the walk-a-thon. This year, the walk-a-thon raised $3,556 to use toward class field trips, lyceum programs, the school yearbook, student book publishing, school dance, basketball, soccer, Spanish, poms, DARE graduation, volleyball, wrestling clinics, staff appreciation week, school equipment, library books, digital cameras, Holiday Shoppe, vision/hearing screening, computer lab equipment, playground equipment and additional memory for computers.

As a fundraising incentive, for every $20 that a student raised, his/her name was entered into a drawing for prizes. The prizes were an iPod donated by the PTA, four tickets to a Green Bay Gamblers game donated by KI, $50 savings bond donated by Cleveland State Bank, LTC gift pack donated by Lakeshore Technical College, three sets of Packers cards and a $5 gift card to Bonde's Quik Mart donated by Bonde's.
