Cooper Kindergarteners Enjoy Learning about Apples
Mrs. Kim Schlieder’s kindergarten class at Cooper Elementary School completed a week-long unit on Apples. Students learned about the life cycle of a tree, the four seasons, and who benefits from apples. Student graphed apples and worked on math vocabulary such as addition, subtraction, more, least and equal.
As a culminating activity, students tasted apples in a variety of different ways and then graphed what they liked best - with caramel, with peanut butter, with cinnamon, as applesauce and as cider or juice. The class favorite was apples with caramel and apple juice or cider came in a close second.
