SASD Long Range (5-Year) Plan - Goals & Objectives

Goal 1:

All students will perform at the “meets or exceeds” level on the common classroom and district assessments by the 2015-16 school year.

Objective 1

Implement a district curriculum, assessment and instruction plan for student learning.

Objective 2

Incorporate project-based learning, community-based learning and real-world applications.

Objective 3

Students and staff will utilize digital technologies and media to be engaged in the learning process to acquire information and demonstrate learning.

Meets - The student has achieved grade level expectations.
Exceeds - The student has surpassed grade level expectations.

Goal 2:

All students will perform at the “meets or exceeds” level for behavior as measured by school-wide behavior data to provide for a safe school environment (office discipline referrals, attendance, number of students and success rate of behavior interventions, etc).

Objective 1 The district will fully implement PBIS in all schools – which includes necessary staff development, appropriate staffing levels, and by providing implementation resources. read more

Goal 3:

District support systems are aligned to maximize student learning.

Objective 1

Develop the foundation for a new pay structure that rewards staff for quality instruction.

Objective 2 Develop negotiating strategies for all groups based on supporting learning.
Objective 3 Wellness efforts are incorporated into Sheboygan Area School District insurance plan
Objective 4 Ensure the Sheboygan Area School District has the organizational structure to support the vision.
Objective 5 Fully implement the state Educator Effectiveness Model for teachers in accordance with the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) guidelines.
Objective 6 Fully implement the state Educator Effectiveness Model for administrators in accordance with the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) timeline.

Objective 7 The Sheboygan Area School District will identify, grow, and develop teacher leadership
Objective 8 Research, develop and/or procure a new teacher screener instrument that measures and successfully determines teacher success in the classroom.
Objective 9 Implement a student information system and a financial information system that is aligned with the state (conversion).
Objective 10 Align structures to support the vision by developing teacher leadership and refocusing the grade-level/city-wide department chairs.
Objective 11 Provide quality nutrition for students
Objective 12 Identify and prioritize capital needs of the District and develop a 10-year capital needs implementation and funding plan
