ESAA is a school that recognizes that students learn through a variety of ways often called multiple intelligences which consist of musical intelligence, bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, logical mathematical intelligence, verbal-linguistic intelligence, spatial intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, and intrapersonal intelligence. Our philosophy of education allows students to learn through the multiple intelligences by pairing the arts and the academics. This allows students the opportunity to learn and express knowledge in a way that plays off of their strengths while still learning the skills necessary to be successful in school. (Click here for more information on Multiple Intelligences). We use the following principles to guide our school:
Increased Arts Instruction
Instruction in dance, drama, music and visual arts
Integration of all of the subjects when appropriate
Instruction in Creativity
All children have the ability to be creative thinkers if
it is developed
Two-way Integration of Subjects
The arts bring creative ways of knowing content to the
academic classes
The arts allow for students to apply what they learn in the academic classes
Instruction based on the Multiple Intelligences
The new question is: how are you smart?
Hands-on Learning
Through integration with the arts, students engage
subjects directly and in the end, develop their own
interpretations and solutions
Thematic Curriculum

children to make authentic connections
