The Étude High School for the Arts and Academics is a public charter school in the Sheboygan Area School District. At Étude, we have developed an educational program that allows students to learn academic content through in depth arts based projects teaching students academic content, artistic communication, reflective thinking and critical and creative thinking.
The Étude Student Day
Étude students attend North or South High Schools in the morning for periods 1-4. Following lunch they board a bus and attend the Étude High School where they have two classes in 70 minute blocks each day. While at Etude students get four full year credits. Students do have the option to take online courses in the morning or to supplement their course work at Étude through on line courses.
The Étude Student Profile
The Étude High School for the Arts and Academics student is a student that is an independent minded student who is interested in learning through the arts. Typically, the student has a specific interest in creative writing, dance, drama, music or visual arts that they may or may not have learned in school. Many Étude students use art forms at Étude that are not offered in traditional high schools such as hip hop dance and fanzine writing. The Étude High School for the Arts and Academics then takes these interests and helps student develop the self discipline and creativity to look at the world and share their ideas through the lens of the arts. These students often go on to college or attend art and design schools. The skills and knowledge learned at Étude prepare students for any next step in life.
