Farnsworth Students Rewarded for Positive Behavior with Activity Day
Farnsworth Middle School students participated in their first quarter PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) celebration on Friday, November 16. Students who did not receive any office referrals during the first quarter were invited to a PBIS Activity Day held during the school day. Students were able to participate in dodgeball, scooter invasion, an art project, movie, video games, and dance. Students were also able to try their luck at dunking Mr. Todd DeBruin, the school principal.

Students who were not able to participate in PBIS Activity Day, due to having earned office referrals in first quarter, were engaged in a PBIS review activity and joined together to create various PBIS-related videos that will be used in conjunction with the teaching of Farnsworth’s behavioral matrix.

PBIS quarterly celebrations are a way to recognize students who are following Farnsworth’s behavioral expectations and to celebrate their role in helping create a positive school climate that focuses on learning. Farnsworth’s first event was fun for all and has set the tone for improving positive behaviors with the hopes that more students will be invited each quarter.
