Farnsworth Middle School Geography Bee
Farnsworth Middle School announces the winners of the 2012-13 Geography  Bee that was held on December 5th. Lauren Edson, 8th grade, is the winner of the Farnsworth Middle School Geography Bee and received a medal.  Lauren will advance to the next level of competition, which is a written examination to determine state competitors.

Second place winner, Mason Prunick , 8th grader, received a pin and certificate. The third place winner, Ryan Dicke , seventh grade, was also awarded a pin and certificate.

Farnsworth Middle School held the first round of the Geography Bee in each of their social studies classes during the month of November. The top students’ then competed the week after Thanksgiving in a grade level Geography Bee. The grade level finalists also received certificates. Representing 6th grade was Cassie Chrisman, Helen Flynn, and Jonathan Mendez; representing 7th grade was Mitchell Gilipsky, and Nathen Elliott-Brown; representing 8th grade- Josh Carlos.

All school winners are eligible to win the national championship and its first prize of a $25,000 college scholarship at the national competition May 20 – 22, 2013 in Washington, D.C.
