Grant & ESAA Schools Help Those in Need
The Grant School family reached out to families in need during the month of December. During the annual 'Friends and Family' event, families in need were invited to the Grant School campus to pick up items that were donated to help make their Christmases brighter. Tracy Steger, Special Education teacher, was in charge of the event this year.
Babysitting was available so parents could 'shop' without their children. Adults had the opportunity to choose gifts for other adults as well as their children. A Kids' Shop was also set up so selected students could choose gifts to give to the adult(s) in their homes. The entire event was designed for the students who would not otherwise have the "gift of giving"...who would not have the thrill of picking out something special, wrapping it, hiding it, giving it.
In addition to the scheduled Friends and Family event, the Grant School family has supplied students with gloves, hats, coats, snow pants if their parents were unable to provide them.
