The Horace Mann Student Council is an organization made up of sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students who promote school spirit, provide service, and plan activities for all students at Horace Mann. Committee meetings will take place on Mondays after school on an as needed basis. Officers are elected in spring and committee chairpersons are appointed in fall. Officers and committee chair people are to attend both executive board and regular meetings. Activities of the council include the annual spirit rallies, spirit days, Halloween dance, Valentine's dance, eighth grade dance, Adopt-a-Highway cleanup, Penny Wars, and staff appreciation. All Horace Mann students may be members of the council.
Meeting Schedule
2011-2012
All Student Council members are required to attend meetings of the council. Members will receive one participation point for each meeting attended. Committee meetings are optional. Members will receive three participation points for each committee meeting they attend. If an officer or member misses three regular Student Council meetings, he or she will be removed from the Council.
