With an emphasis on literacy, math and real-world science, Jackson students build a strong foundation in the core curriculum. English Language Learner (ELL) Program
Licensed ELL teachers provide classroom instruction and additional learning support for students who are non-native English speakers to ensure they acquire English proficiency.

PACE Gifted and Talented Program
Jackson provides a variety of enrichment activities for students who have been identified as gifted and talented. Activities are designed to challenge students and develop their skills in their area of giftedness. PACE is one way our school meets the varying needs of our students.

Band
Beginning band is open to all 5th grade students. We offer instruction on flute, oboe, clarinet, alto sax, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone and combined percussion. Students receive one twenty minute lesson and one thirty minute full rehearsal per week. Performances include a winter concert, a spring concert and Fifth Grade Recognition. Students participating in an instrumental music program develop self-discipline through regular practice, teamwork and leadership skills while playing with peers, and self-confidence when playing for friends and family.

Orchestra
The strings program is open to 5th grade students. Students who participate in the strings program attend a weekly, small group lesson that is scheduled before school or during the school day. Instruments available for study are the violin, viola, cello, and string bass.

After-School Enrichment Activities
At Jackson School, we offer a wide variety of after-school enrichment activities for our students such as acting, board games, drawing, guitar, music, pet care, sign language, Spanish, and yoga. Grade Level Buddies -
Younger and older students are paired up for activities throughout the school year. This “buddy” program helps build a strong school community where students all work together and respect one another, regardless of age differences.
Pre-School Story Time
Open to the community several times throughout the year. An hour long activity time for pre-schoolers and their parents in our brand new Magic Tree House Reading Center. Click here for the schedule.

Scout Troops
Jackson students join together to form cub scout packs and girl scout troops that meet in our school. For more information, contact the school office at 459-3573.

Several times throughout the school year, staff members host an assembly followed by special activities for the students.

Open to all 4th and 5th grade students. Student council members help organize spirit days (Schedule), food drives, and other school and community service events.

Top of the Line Program
Jackson's Top of the Line is based on a program developed by nationally recognized behavior management expert Corwin Kronenberg. Yearbook Club
Jackson students use their creative talents to design and create our school yearbook. Each year, student artwork is chosen for the cover and students work with parent volunteers to layout each page of the yearbook. Our yearbooks truly are a memorable keepsake.
