Jefferson Reads 167,000 Minutes
School met its annual reading goal of 100,000 minutes. The students at
Jefferson Elementary School read 167,000 minutes outside of school
during a five-week period. Reid Miller, a storyteller, was the guest
performer at the Reading Incentive Program. Miller has been telling
stories since childhood. For nearly 30 years, he has performed at
schools, libraries, theaters, banquets and festivals across America.
is also a talented singer, musician, puppeteer, dancer and actor. He
has produced a variety of recordings for youth and family enjoyment.
His story, Roar With Reading, emphasizes the importance of reading.
The Jefferson Elementary School Reading Incentive Committee sponsored Jefferson's reading program.
