SASD School Board Member Visits Jefferson Elementary School
Three fifth graders presented at the Sheboygan Area School District Board of Education Meeting in March. After the presentation, the students were curious about the role of school board members. Barbara Tuszynski, a recently re-elected board member of 16 years, came to Jefferson Elementary to answer their questions.

In a question and answer session, the fifth graders were able to ask Mrs. Tuszynski all about her job, including a few personal questions as well.  The students thought it was a great experience to meet a real school board member and find out how they make decisions that impact and enrich their education directly and indirectly.

The students tied this into their social studies curriculum where they learn about the rolls of government, elections and functions at the federal, state and local levels.
