Jefferson Students Study Space, Visit Spaceport Sheboygan
Second grade teachers at Jefferson Elementary School wanted to try something new this year so they worked together to create a new thematic unit focused on space science. Lessons were developed on space travel, the planets and a space mission to Mars. The classes wrapped up their studies with a field trip experience to Spaceport Sheboygan to visit the planetarium. The unit also included a hands-on project where students built and launched their own rockets.
