Alice in Dairyland Visits Jefferson Elementary School
Fourth Grade students at Jefferson Elementary School were visited by Alice in Dairyland, Kristen Olson, in January. She is the 66th Alice in Dairyland in the state of Wisconsin. She presented the program “Growing a Healthy Wisconsin” to all 4th grade students. The topics she discussed with the students included Wisconsin agriculture and farming in Wisconsin, such as dairy, beef, cattle, and fish farms. She explained the importance of farming to the state and its’ impact on the economy. The presentation also included a discussion on the many products produced in Wisconsin such as milk, cheese, carrots, peas, beans, potatoes, cranberries, strawberries, oats, and wheat.
