The following vacancy exists in the Sheboygan Area School District.                                            LANGUAGE ARTS TEACHER, GRADES 9-12
                                                          NORTH HIGH SCHOOL

1. Must be Wisconsin DPI certified to teach language arts in grades 9-12.
2. Must have clear knowledge of the CCSS Disciplinary Literacy Standards and adolescent literacy strategies to help students achieve school-wide literacy goals.
3. Must be able to successfully integrate the Common Core Standards into instruction and student learning.
4. Must have excellent student rapport and a willingness to support students on a daily basis.
5. Desire to work with colleagues to develop a common and rigorous curriculum.
6. Desire to work with students to improve their literary, composition, and grammar skills.

North High School is seeking a student-centered and reflective language arts teacher who is committed to providing students with a rigorous and high-quality learning experience. A desire to meet the needs of all students is paramount. Candidates must be willing and able to work well as part of department and building teams. Knowledge of effective literacy strategies and the application of said strategies are also desired. In addition, candidates must be able to demonstrate appropriate use of a wide variety of instructional strategies, and have a working knowledge of the Common Core Standards.

We further support our PLC process with Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS), Response to Intervention (RtI), and 21st Century Skills. Successful candidate(s) for employment in our District need to have a strong working knowledge of the above listed best practice concepts that are the centerpieces of our District goals.
