The following vacancy exists in the Sheboygan Area School District.    SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER
SOUTH HIGH SCHOOL

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be Wisconsin DPI certified in History (725); certification in Broad Field Social Studies (701), Political Science (735), and Sociology (745) are desired.
2. Must be knowledgeable in and utilize differentiated instruction, 21st century skills, PLC, RtI, PBIS, and common core standards.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Sheboygan South High School is seeking a student-centered and reflective social studies teacher who is committed to providing students with a rigorous and high-quality learning experience. A desire to meet the needs of all students is paramount. Candidates must be willing and able to work well as part of department and building teams. Knowledge of effective literacy strategies and the application of said strategies are also desired. In addition, candidates must be able to demonstrate appropriate use of a wide variety of instructional strategies, and have a working knowledge of the Wisconsin State Social Studies Standards.

The Sheboygan Area School District is a strong advocate of best practice. Our District educational goals are centered on a Professional Learning Community model. We further support our PLC process with Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS), Response to Intervention (RtI), and 21st Century Skills. Successful candidate(s) for employment in our District need to have a strong working knowledge of the above listed best practice concepts that are the centerpieces of our District goals.
