was in the air at Lincoln-Erdman Elementary School on March 12.
Students, family and staff members attended the annual science fair to
view the students' entries.
A science fair
encourages students to think like young scientists. The educational
benefits of a science fair are numerous as students develop skills in
writing, oral presentation, research, creative thinking, and problem
solving. The Lincoln-Erdman event was open to students in grades 4K-5.
successful science fair project is an investigation using the
scientific method to discover the answer to a scientific problem. The
scientific method involves the following steps: asking questions and
forming a hypothesis, creating experiments to test the hypothesis,
organizing data and drawing conclusions, and writing about the research
that was conducted. Once completed, a visual display and brief oral
presentation of this information is produced and judged. Please see the
planning sheet on the back of this sheet for further details.
conjunction with the school's LEEF Trail project, Lincoln-Erdman
selected a theme of Health, Wellness and the Environment for this
year's science fair.
This year the school had
several Science Fair judges that made comments on each exhibit
detailing areas the students have excelled in and areas that could be
improved on. Every participant was a winner.
