James Madison Second Grader Wins Savings Bond in Poster Contest
votes for Wisconsin Rural Water Association's (WRWA) first annual Water
Conservation Poster Contest were tallied and a James Madison Elementary
School second grader came in first place among second graders statewide.
The contest was open to all students first through sixth grades throughout Wisconsin.
Before entering the contest, teachers were asked to speak with the
students about water conservation and how important this resource is to
Wisconsin. Teachers then submitted their entries to WRWA. Almost 200
entries from over 50 schools were received for the contest. The
finalists of each grade were posted at WRWA's Annual Technical
Conference in Green Bay, attended by water and wastewater utility
operators throughout the State. Attendees were asked to vote for the
best poster in each grade.
First place winners in
each grade will receive a $100 savings bond and their school was
entered into a drawing for $500 for supplies for the school. Second
place winners will receive a $50 savings bond.
