Winter Clothing Being Gathered for Area Families

The Sheboygan Area School District, in conjunction with the Kiwanis Club of Greater Sheboygan is hosting the 16th Annual Clothing Exchange.

Items like hats, coats, sweaters, pants and shirts can be taken to any Sheboygan Area School District school or Community Bank and Trust in Sheboygan or Sheboygan Falls. Items are being accepted from Oct. 1 - Nov. 5, 2008.

The items will then be sorted and distributed to area families attending the Clothing Exchange which will be held Nov. 8, 2008 at Grant Elementary School, 1528 N. 5th St., 9-11 a.m.

People in need of clothing for the winter can exchange canned or packaged goods for new clothing items.

No proof of income is needed. Canned and packaged goods will be delivered to the Sheboygan County Food pantry.

People in the community who have been served by this program include families with school-age children, teen mothers, families who have just moved to Sheboygan from a warmer climate and foreign exchange students from Africa attending Lakeland College.

The Annual Clothing Exchange is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Greater Sheboygan, Sheboygan Area School District, The Sheboygan Press and Community Bank and Trust.
