Elementary Schools Benefit from ExxonMobil Grant

ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program recently awarded three $500 grants to Sheboygan area elementary schools. Presenting the grants to the principles from Longefellow, Sheridan, and Washington schools was Scott Stangel from Quality State Oil Company, an ExxonMobil branded distributor.

Each school works closely with the Sheboygan Noon Optimist Club in sponsoring a community service project called Back to School Basics. The project serves over 1500 Sheboygan area children by providing each child with the necessary school supplies needed for a successful educational experience.

Principles Seth Harvatine (Longfellow), Karl Bekkum (Washington), Michael Trimbreger (Sheridan) and all agreed the funding offered by ExxonMobil is very important to the teachers, the parents and especially the kids in making a difference in the education process. Mr. Harvatine went on to say, "The work done by the Optimist Club helps parents who otherwise would be unable to provide the school supplies for their child's education."

ExxonMobil presents 4,000 grants each year to schools located in communities served by Exxon or Mobil branded station. The program is designed to provide Exxon and Mobil retailers an opportunity to invest in the future of their communities through educational grants to neighborhood schools. Grants are made possible through funding from ExxonMobil Corporation.
