Lake Country Academy Students Showcase Talents at Theatre for Young Audiences
Two Lake Country Academy students are working hard on the Theater for Young Audience's production of The Wizard of Oz.
Kids throughout the county auditioned to be a part of the show and
third grader Quinn Z. and seventh grader Andrew G. were selected for
roles. Quinn will play a munchkin and an Ozian; and Andrew will be a
tree, Winkie; and Ozian.
In addition to a rigorous
rehearsal schedule, actors and their families are required to help
build and paint sets, sew costumes, and make props; Quinn and Andrew
can be found at U.W.-Sheboygan rehearsing nearly every night for a
production that is taking a total of three months to put together.
Quinn commented, "Take my advice, come and see this show, it's worth it!"
TYA selected The Wizard of Oz
to celebrate their 20th anniversary. This will be their biggest and
best production yet! TYA is known for offering field trips to schools
so that kids can enjoy their shows. Unfortunately, this production is
so large that it is not being offered as a daytime show for area
schools. Tickets are $15 each and are available through TYA's website:
tyasheboygan.org. A total of eight shows will be preformed between
January 30 and February 8.
