South Artists Keep Active During Winter Months

Sheboygan South High School art department has been staying warm this winter with a number of activities, including participating in an ice carving contest held during Winterfest in Kohler.

Pictured here, South High art students Jose Martinez, Alma Tovar, Aline Moreno and
Marcos Moreno, received an honorable mention with their swan sculpture. Also receiving
recognition was Peng Yang who took second place with his sculpture of President
Obama. A total of seven teams from South participated in the competition.

Also receiving special recognition from South's art department are Koyising Yang and Morgan Edwards. They had their art work chosen from hundreds to be reproduced as postcards and fliers for the John Michael Kohler Arts Center's Youth Art Month Exhibition.

Representing South at the Regional Youth Art Month Exhibition in Green Bay are Kris Harmelink, Sarah Wiemann, Devan Brown, and Peng Yang. Their pieces will go on to be included in a second exhibition at the State Capitol later this spring.
