North Student Earns Scholarship and Gives Mom Special Recognition
Sheboygan North High School senior Mary Biemann was one of only four recipients of the Wisconsin School Counselor Association (WSCA) and TCF National Bank scholarship.
Each year four WSCA/TCF $1,000 scholarships are awarded to high school students from across the state of Wisconsin. There were over 180 applicants for the 2009 scholarships. To apply, students are asked to write an essay explaining how a school counselor or school counseling program helped them plan, decide, resolve or grow in some area of their life.
The subject of Biemann's essay was her mother, Lisa Biemann, who was her elementary school counselor. Lisa Biemann is the school counselor for Grant Elementary School and the Elementary School for the Arts and Academics.
The scholarship was awarded at the Wisconsin School Counselors Association Conference, February 20, 2009, in Stevens Point.
