Gifts of Gratitude Presented to Washington School Staff
Washington School for Comprehensive Literacy PTO (Parent Teacher
Organization) graciously acknowledged the entire staff at Washington
throughout Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4-8.
Monday the staff was treated to a bagel breakfast. On Tuesday the
children were asked to wear their teachers' favorite color for the day. Some students even colored their hair to show their respect for the
teachers' favorite color.
Wednesday was treat day.
Through a survey form everyone was asked several questions about their
favorite treat and music. The PTO then found the favorite treat,
wrapped and tagged it, and presented each staff member with his or her
Thursday was special in that teachers were
presented with a tissue paper bouquet and a poem that was read by a
student in their class.
Friday was the culminating
event when the staff was treated to a lunch and yet another gift of a
CD that was composed of all the favorite songs selected by members of
the staff. A week of acknowledgment was greatly appreciated by everyone.
