Washington Students Learn at the Marsh
fifth grade classes at Washington School For Comprehensive Literacy
recently went on a two-day science field trip. The trip was part of a
science unit on Wetlands.
One day, the students went canoeing under the
guidance of Sarah Dezwarte, to provide first hand experience with
wetlands. During the other day, the students conducted experiments to
determine the health of the marsh. They collected samples of insects
and other tiny critters from the bottom of the food chain, under the
direction of Jamie Prigge, using the quantity and variety as criteria
to determine overall health of the ecosystem.
5th grade students from Washington School for Comprehensive Literacy
attended the special event along with their teachers, Ms. Seboe, Mrs.
Schulze, and Mrs. Metropolis.
