Washington Students Say "Nyob Zoo Xyoo Tshiab"
The words in the title of this article mean Happy New Year in Hmong. Mrs. Paulina Yang, educational assistant at Washington School for Comprehensive Literacy, introduced the students of Washington to some of the traditions of the Hmong culture using artifacts and actions. Several students did the traditional ball toss and numerous students wore their traditional Hmong clothing for the event. The students and staff at Washington believe it is important to celebrate the diversity within its student body.
