SASD Middle School Music Festival a Success
The halls were alive with the sound of music when the annual Middle
School Music Festival recently took place at Farnsworth Middle School.
Every year students from Farnsworth, Urban, Horace Mann Middle
Schools, and Lake Country Academy, along with students from private
schools participate in the Festival.
Students in band, orchestra, choir, and piano classes work on solos and ensembles and then perform those events in front of judges in order to receive a score and ribbon. The positive feedback that these students receive reinforces all of the positive things that they're doing in their musical studies and gives them techniques to work on as they progress.
This year 299 solos and 127 ensembles were performed and 429 Blue ribbons, 129 Red ribbons, and 12 White ribbons were awarded to the students.
Ann Muellenbach, Sheboygan Areas School District (SASD) orchestra and strings teacher, stated, "Special thanks go out to all of the judges who gave of their time on a Saturday to listen to these wonderful students. Also, thank you to all of the Middle School music teachers who help make this Festival a success year after year."
Muellenbach added, "It's always a treat each year to hear the fabulous music talent that exists in the halls of the Sheboygan Area School District's Middle Schools."
