South AP Psychology Students Complete Field Work
Sheboygan South High Advanced Placement (AP) psychology students had the opportunity to do fieldwork at the Early Learning Center (ELC.) The fieldwork was coordinated by ELC staff member Mary Neeb and Jon Schrank, social studies teacher at South. Sixty-three students spent one session each, observing and interacting with the ELC teachers and students as a part of the developmental psychology unit.
The AP psychology students were able to see up firsthand the language abilities and skills of pre-school age children. Social interaction between peers as well as cognition levels were also observed.
Dylan Ziegler, South senior, commented, "I did not think I would enjoy the experience, but I did. It was enjoyable and I learned something."
The psychology classes at South have been visiting the ELC since 1995 as a part of hands on higher, level learning.
