Urban Students Represent Tech Program at LTC Best Practices Fair

Urban Middle School seventh graders Caleb B., Bryan G. and Eric N., along with North High students Tye S. and Jeanna D., joined Urban teachers Deb Pilz and Cassie Wolfert for Lakeshore Technical College's Best Practices Fair. The students represented Urban Middle School's Generation Knights after school club at one of the booth style presentations.

Generation Knights is an after school service club that infuses technology into the classroom and throughout the building. A Generation Knight student partners with a staff member to create technology projects such as power points, web pages, movies, slide shows and games to be used with students. The club's motto, "Ask Me About Technology Power Within," represents the club's belief that all people can be empowered by learning, using, and sharing technology.

The seventh graders are current Generation Knight Club members. The North students are Generation Knights alumni. During the best practices fair, the students had the opportunity to talk with teachers, Library Media Specialists, Technology Specialists and administrators from the CESA 7 area explaining their practices and sharing project samples.
