Cleveland & Montessori Schools Partner with LTC on Earth Week Art Project
Cleveland Elementary and NEW Montessori schools recently collaborated with Lakeshore Technical College (LTC) on an Earth Week project.
Kiah Smith, Next Generation Energy Coordinator for LTC, spoke to students and staff at Cleveland Elementary School and NEW Montessori charter school on April 19th about the importance of recycling and using alternate forms of "green" energy. The students at Cleveland Elementary School created projects using materials that they recycled into art pieces. Using recycled materials, students in the NEW Montessori charter School created a functional recycled project by decorating a garbage can that will be used as the recycle bin in the classroom. All of the projects are on display at LTC.
The artwork was on display as the backdrop for the program during the Earth Day lunch presentation at LTC. During the presentation Dr. Ron Schaper shared facts about the LTC Old Growth Forest.
