Cooper Third Graders Visit County Museum
Students are often asked to look and learn with their eyes only. During a recent field trip to the Sheboygan County Historical Museum, Cooper Elementary School third grade students of teachers Ann Wusterbarth, Margaret Heyn, and Eric Waara, were asked to participate with the full use of all their senses. The students spent the day ‘experiencing' historic trades and occupations of 1840-1860 Sheboygan.
During the full-day field trip, the students explored various trades and occupations associated with the establishment and growth of the early communities of Sheboygan County including blacksmiths, farmers, carpenters, coopers, shoemakers, general store owners, fishermen, liverymen, wheelwrights, and others.
