Jefferson Second Graders Take a Trip the Past
Jefferson Elementary School second grade students recently had the opportunity to become pioneers at the Sheboygan Museum. The day included tours of the Taylor House and the log cabin along with hands-on activities. Students experienced first hand how to live the life of a pioneer. Some of the hands-on activities included dipping candles, chopping wood, hauling water and weaving.
The day was wrapped up by playing pioneer games such as jacks, dominoes, Jacob's ladder, and pick up sticks. The pioneer experience provided the second graders with valuable knowledge about the life of a pioneer.
Jefferson students tried their hands at carding wool, which was one of the hands-on
activities that the students were able to do during their visit to the Sheboygan Museum.
