Jackson Students Hold Science Fair
photo

Jackson Elementary School fifth graders recently participated in the school's annual Science Fair. The science fair was held for parents and community members after school and during the day for the Jackson and A2 Charter School students.

Students were taught the Scientific Method as part of the science curriculum. Students considered variables, sample size, and controls when writing their procedures. All students were required to develop a project/experiment based on this method. Many parents were involved in the projects because students worked on them at home.

Experiments included Magnets, Starburst Flavor Identification, What Object (Shiny or Dull) Attracts Fish?, What Cheese Grows Mold the Fastest?, and What Effect Does Baking Soda Have on Muffins?
