Leprechaun Makes Annual Visit to Jackson Classrooms
Jackson Elementary School first graders set traps in their classroom hoping to catch their annual St. Patrick's Day visitor. If the trap shown was successful, the leprechaun would climb up the ramp of rulers, gather the money and fall into the bin at the top of the rulers.
Last year Nadine Neuhaus' students made one big trap and the leprechaun lost his shoe trying to get away.
This year, students worked in groups and made various traps throughout the classroom. Different contraptions included upside down recycling bins, string, coins, fly swatter, scale, tape, rulers, pencils, dowels, and balls.
As in the past, the leprechaun was again lucky this year and escaped all the traps, but he did leave a treat for the students.
