Farnsworth Teacher’s Day is “Made Better” by Surprise Award
photoCongratulations to Marikay Aria who was one of 1,000 teachers in the United States to be surprised by Office Max with $1,000 worth of school supplies on Tuesday, October 4.

Ms. Aria, along with several of her students, was surprised by the award, dubbed “A Day Made Better”. The eighth grade band kicked off the celebration with a wonderful piece of music. Then, the Office Max store manager, assistant manager, and an Office Max employee who worked hard to garner the donations presented a plaque and the supplies to Ms. Aria.

This marks the fifth anniversary of the A Day Made Better event. OfficeMax worked with nonprofit partner, Adopt-A-Classroom, to identify recipient schools in need across the country. Principals at the schools then nominated a teacher who exemplified passion, dedication, and innovation in the classroom.

The annual event may be over, but you can still surprise a deserving teacher in your community by donating your own A Day Made Better box filled with classroom supplies. Visit adoptaclassroom.org/better to learn more.
