Grant School Family Celebrates Positive Behavior
On September 22, the staff and families of Grant Elementary School gathered for a Positive Behavior Celebration. This year, Grant has been named both a School of Merit by the Wisconsin PBIS Network for exemplary work in teaching positive behavior, and a Wisconsin School of Recognition by the Department of Public Instruction for high academic achievement.
At the Celebration, families joined together for a meal and an assembly featuring the School Pledge and a video created by students explaining and demonstrating the school wide behavior expectations in a fun and creative way.
The evening also included a workshop session for parents, “PBIS: the Grant School Family and Your Family”, explaining how the process and framework of Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) can promote positive behavior changes in the home environment just as it does at school. The Celebration concluded with door prizes for families to enjoy together, including board games, movies, and gift certificates donated by area businesses.
