Wilson Students Enjoy Learning About and Sampling Pizza
Wilson Elementary School kindergarten teacher Sherri Morgan invited staff members from the local Toppers Pizza Restaurant to teach her students how to make pizza. Kindergarteners learned about the ingredients, where they come from and how they are used to make pizza.  Pizza girl Kayla and Pizza girl Dee showed the class how pizza is made.

After the demonstration, all the students got their own dough ball to press out and try spinning in the air to make the crust, which they really enjoyed. Naturally, the highlight of the event was sampling pizza!

The pizza presentation goes along with the class Reading series "Around the Table" especially the book titled "Hold the Anchovies" which is a nonfiction book that explains the process on how pizza is made. The presentation also ties into the class science unit on nutrition.

The students flatten the dough into a pizza shape.
