Fifth Grade Band Students Record a CD
Fifth grade band students of Mrs. Patricia Milsted from Jackson Elementary, Wilson Elementary, and A2 Charter Schools participated in a recording session on January 10, 2012 with South High Symphonic Band students.  There were 110 students who joined forces to record music that the fifth graders recently performed at their holiday concerts. The high school students also played some of their favorite pep band tunes for the fifth graders and those songs were recorded as well.  Each fifth grader will receive a souvenir CD.  Each elementary school band member sat next to their high school "band buddy" who made them feel welcome and helped them along when necessary.

This is the third consecutive year the students have worked together to record a CD.  The event was a collaborative effort by Mr. Wade Heinen, director of South High School Symphonic Band and Mrs. Milsted, director of the Jackson, A2, and Wilson bands as well as the Grant Elementary and Elementary School for the Arts and Academics school bands.
