Jefferson Teacher Uses Hand-on Approach to Teach Heat
Fourth grade students at Jefferson Elementary School, under the direction of teacher Pam Braatz, are studying space heating in science. The students used different materials in or on their cardboard “houses” to determine what materials help heat up the house, and more importantly, what materials hold the heat in the house the longest. Materials used included wet soil, curtains, bubble insulation, and white sand.
