South High Culinary Students Win Honors at Chili Cook-Off
The South High Culinary Arts Team was awarded all 3 prizes at the 1st Annual Chili Cook-Off sponsored by the Hyper Tails Agility Club on November 19, 2011.
From a group of 10 very diverse chilis, these students placed with awards (pictured from left to right)
Carissa Neese- 1st Place
Paige Soerens- 2nd Place
Dalton Burke- People’s Choice
Allison Edwards, Damien Blake, Dylan Grawien, and Carlos Diaz also participated for South High School. Three adults also competed for the prizes.
The South High School Culinary Arts Department utilizes the ProStart curriculum created by the National Restaurant Association. Emphasis is placed on making great food in a sanitary manner.
