Longfellow Students Enjoy Special Visit from Book Characters
Longfellow Elementary School students enjoyed a surprise visit by two book characters at a school assembly last week. Sheboygan Area School District Superintendent Dr. Joseph Sheehan dressed as Max, from the book Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. He was joined by Longfellow Principal Todd Reinke, dressed as one of the ‘wild things’ from the book. The characters were greeted with squeals of delight and gasps of fright as they entered the gym and interacted with the students. Sheehan and Reinke handed out bookmarks promoting the third annual Children’s Book Festival, in Sheboygan.

The characters also helped to make the story come alive for the kindergarten students, who were treated to a special interactive reading by the Dr. Sheehan.
