Turkeys Tell Stories at Wilson Elementary School
Kindergarteners in Brenda Moratecks' classroom at Wilson Elementary School created turkeys to tell a story. These are not just any turkeys, though. They are turkey glyphs. Glyphs use color, shapes, designs, and the placement of symbols to indicate a story or information. Some of the information included in the students’ turkey glyphs indicates whether or not the students are having turkey for Thanksgiving dinner, going to grandmas' house, which vegetables they like, whether they like pumpkin pie and if they are going to help clean up after dinner. It looks like there's more to these turkeys than meets the eye.
