Wilson Students Create Delicious Landforms
As part of their geography/social studies curriculum, second grade students of Michele Mosnik at Wilson Elementary School completed their study of landforms by decorating cakes! After sketching a map and agreeing upon a plan, each group of students used frosting, candies, marshmallows, and sprinkles to create rivers and lakes, plains, mountains, deserts, and valleys. After each group showed and explained their cake to the rest of the class, students were allowed to eat a piece of their cake.
