Wilson Students Visit Historical Museum
Wilson Elementary School fourth grade students visited the Sheboygan County Historic Museum earlier this month where they learned about Sheboygan County Native American tribes, their customs, and ways of living. Their day at the museum is split between the museum displays and the classroom. At the end of the day students learned about and experienced a powwow.
After learning how Native Americans produced corn meal Alizae tries grinding corn between two stones as Emily and Kalei look on.
Aeris tries her hand at basket weaving as museum volunteer Phyllis Darkow points out the next step.
In the museum, Kendrik looks over a display containing gourds and squash, a major source of food for Native Americans.
