Superintendent Joe Sheehan Recognized by NEW Manufacturing Alliance
Sheboygan Area School District Superintendent Dr. Joseph Sheehan was recognized by the Northeast Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance at its first Excellence in Manufacturing/Education Partnership Awards event. Dr. Sheehan was awarded the Career Pathmaker – Administrator Award. The event spotlighted best practices of manufacturing and education collaborations throughout the state, as well as showcasing top talent from local manufacturing companies. Dr. Sheehan recognizes the excellent technical career opportunities and has been a leader in helping kids make good career choices. He is in tune with local employer needs and is working to expand work-based learning for students to get them started in their career path.
The NEW Manufacturer’s Alliance was formed in June 2006. The organization is led by manufacturers who are working collectively to attract, develop and retain the highly-skilled workforce who are critical to the manufacturing industry in northeast Wisconsin. Over the past six years the Alliance has grown to over 100 organizations, mostly manufacturers partnering with educational institutions, workforce development boards, chambers of commerce, economic developers and nonprofit agencies.
