Tower Academy Students Volunteer at Cancer Fundraiser
On Saturday October 29, students and staff from Tower Academy
volunteered at the American Cancer Society’s 33rd Annual Cancer Walk/Run
at Road America. Ten students, along with five staff members, set up
water stations and handed out water to the event participants. Tower
Academy volunteers were also allowed to walk the course after the event
participants had passed their stations.
This is the third consecutive year that students and staff from Tower
Academy have volunteered their time to support this cause.
The volunteer effort is a personal one for students and staff as they
got involved to support a former Tower Academy staff member in her fight
against cancer. Both current and former students whose lives have been
touched by cancer continue to help each year.
This is a great example of service learning at Tower Academy.
