Teacher Recognized as Juvenile Detention Educator of the Year
Peg Jaeger, a teacher in the Sheboygan Area School District (SASD), was the 2011 recipient of the Gina K. Flease Memorial Educator of the Year Award from the Wisconsin Juvenile Detention Educators Association. Ms. Jaeger works with SASD students at the Sheboygan County Juvenile Detention Program. Her role is extremely important to keep this unique segment of students on track with their education.
In a letter to the District, David Erickson, Coordinator of the Association, said that Ms. Jaeger “has demonstrated an excellent rapport with her students and is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure these kids are successful.” She was also recognized for her student advocacy in support of the Sheboygan County Juvenile Detention Center. Jaeger was instrumental in securing continued funding for the program, which was being considered as a closure to save money.
The Sheboygan Area School District congratulates Peg Jaeger on this award and commends her service to the Sheboygan Area School District. She was recognized at the January 24, 2012 Board of Education meeting.
