Horace Mann Students Meet their Reading “Ghoul”
photo
One major focus of Horace Mann Middle School is to get students
actively and enthusiastically engaged in reading. The sixth grade students who took part in the reading program, “Meeting our Reading Ghouls”, successfully met this challenge.  Students read and recorded over 50,000 pages in just six weeks.

Students were required to complete a book report form and then for every 100 pages they read, they received a Halloween character of their choice.  Each Halloween character represented a different teacher.  The teacher with the most characters had the privilege of choosing the remaining teachers’ costumes. Teachers wore the costumes the day of the Halloween dance.  The sixth grade teachers at Horace Mann Middle School would like to commend all the students who took part in the reading program. Reading is ghoulishly fun!
