Lake Country Academy Students Practice Self-Sacrifice in Honor of Veteran’s Day
Self-sacrifice can be defined as the behavior of someone who chooses not to have or to do something they want in order to help other people.  Lake Country Academy is focusing their November Core Virtue on self-sacrifice, in conjunction with the honoring of our military on Veteran’s Day.  Students collected food items for the Salvation Army to demonstrate their self-sacrifice. Students are expected to “earn” the food item by doing something for someone else.

In addition to the food drive, pre-k through 8th grade students have written over 300 letters of gratitude to send to the Department of Veterans Affairs of Wisconsin. The drawings and letters of gratitude helped students honor Veteran’s service to our country.

An honor guard of fourth grade students greeted the student body as they arrived at a special assembly on Veteran’s Day which included one minute of silence throughout the school at 11:00 a.m.
